This three-month program (18 hours) is perfect for newcomers who want to learn the game from scratch. Students will develop an understanding of chess principles, notation, piece movements, and basic strategies to get started.

Introduction to Chess
  • Understanding the chessboard and setting up the starting position
  • Chess notation and how to record moves
  • Identifying chess pieces and their values
  • Basic movement of all pieces
  • Learning how to capture, attack, and defend
In-Depth Chess Concepts
  • Pawn Promotion & En Passant – Understanding special pawn moves
  • Castling – The key defensive strategy for king safety
  • Check & Checkmate – Learning how to deliver a checkmate
  • Stalemate – Understanding draw situations
  • Introduction to Lichess.com – Getting started with online chess practice
  • Checkmate in 1 & 2 moves – Building tactical awareness
  • Checkmate with Queen & Rook – Mastering the basics of finishing a game

Practice & Assignments

Workbooks & Assignments: Students will receive two workbooks, each containing 500 instructive puzzles, for additional home practice. These puzzles will reinforce their understanding and enhance pattern recognition skills.
